Re: Mange's tender mod
The tender is an integral part of a steam locomotive. Not having it is just dumb. It makes an already toy trainish game look even more so. I believe that one decision to eliminate the tenders seriously hurt this games appeal to a lot of people.

Re: Online strategy guide
I see what you mean, but it can sometimes be really difficult getting that station track to be very small and still connect to the station. I'll test this out sometime and get back to you. And it still seriously violates the spirit of the game. Like having a train route so short the train is ...

Re: Two Locos
Is this also possible with steam engines, incl. tenders? If what you mean is two steam locos both with tenders then the answer is no. The game only allows one engine with only one tender. Of course the "tender" can be another loco, but not another one with its own "tender". I hope that's clear. :wi...

Re: new train: EMD F40PH
When I download your .rar and extract it I only get two files.
I can't get it to work. I get a CTD.
I've added it to Names_ENU.xml, RRT_Trains.xml and RRT_Trains_US_East.xml
I hope I can get it to work, I was going to request this loco.

Re: New Train: GE Genesis
Of course they would have to have custom cars as well.
And the special end car would have to be a mail car since SMR always wants to put them on the end of the train.
BTW does anyone know if there is a way to fix that?

If you're taking requests I'd like to see an M-10000 or a Zephyr!histy wrote:As I can not put all the original trains in the right scales I'd rather let my closest of which already exist not to generate a visual conflict.
Anyway, wait for more in the coming days:

I am just going to add a word of encouragement.
I would really like to see this completed map.
BTW, the XML editor I've used at work for years is 'vi'.

Thanks for your tips darthdroid. They have made all my games at 'Robber Baron' now a cake walk.
Especially your stock tips and industry buying advice. You've made me much less reluctant to go ahead and just build an industry close to a resource rather than delivering to one farther away.

This discussion of Point #1:No curved Track and the crazy right angle turns got me curious. How much of an actual advantage is it to have those 90 degree turns? I tested it. Case 1 : 7.97 miles of track test.JPG Case 2 : 9.71 miles of track test2.JPG After running the same brand new train the same a...

Re: passenger cars
OK, this worked, but it makes all the other cars that are already small even smaller. The <Scale>x</Scale> only works inside the <RRTTrainCars> tag and not inside the individual <TrainCar> tags so you can't re-size each type of car individually. Oh well, I can live with it.
Thanks for the help.

Re: 4-8-4 Golden State Revision
If we already have Rodea's 6 axle wheel animations installed do we still need yours from this thread? never thought about that, but i guess you could use them, if you know how to edit the tender .kfm and change the 4 _wheel_layer_wheels_.. animation file names to match rodea's files. :mrgree...

Re: passenger cars
I really hate to be picky and I wish I had the resources and skill to do it myself, but... The cars seem a tad too large. Their roofs extend over the tops of the locomotives and their wheels are even larger than the diesels wheels. Any chance you could re-size these? Pretty please? If not, I'll stil...
