Re: cities In Motion, a new game for our collective watch li

Thanks for sharing the video - the graphics look good, the transport system looks complex enough, but I agree the 4 cities feature is limiting. Only time will tell. I still use Simcity4 fairly regularly, the huge amount of user content has kept it alive for the past few years. Projects like NAM add ...

Re: 2010 Screenshot Contest! Voting!

Great job everyone! There were some really nice screenshots submitted.

The contest was a great idea Warll! We should probably have a non-contest eternal screenshot thread so that we can share nice screenshots whenever we get them.

Re: [WIP] Mediterranean

Thanks again Jancsika, I'll try changing the shaders and anti-aliasing. Will report back if it works. Yesterday I ended up restarting Railroads! each time the glitch got too severe - not ideal but it worked. Too much texturing sounds about right  Edit: BTW after some testing I found it was the ...

I've been trying to finish the terrain texturing using the map editor, however I'm randomly getting the above glitch. Parts of the map go black or green, with bits of the map flying around in space.

Is this normal? :?

I'm going to add it to any I create - It's really well made and looks brilliant in Railroads!

@Warll: Yes it's now centered in IE :)

p.s. Can you rename the subject title of this topic to something less depressing - how about 'Upgrading the forums!'

Re: Trains unexpectedly stop unloading

Apparently this bug has happened to a few people. The official bug fix: Hold the Alt key down and press tab (the key above Caps lock on a standard keyboard layout). This will minimise the game and show the windows desktop. Click on the Sid Meier's Railroads! button on the taskbar to enter the game a...

Warll did you see the first comment made on the homepage contest post?

Apparently the guy can't sign up as a new user to the forum. You might need to see if registration still works.

Re: [WIP] Mediterranean

Thanks Jancsika, very useful to know. I'm going to stick to the 18x18 map I have, purely so that the map can run smoothly without crashing. I've been looking at how cities work and can't find the file that defines city growth rates. Looking at the wiki, there is no mention of an xml file: http://smr...

Re: The future of this forum

Thought I'd list some of the broken/dead links I've found on my adventures on smrsimple: Some of these download map links work, others dont: http://smrsimple.com/wiki/index.php?title=Sid_Meier%27s_Railroads!:Custom_maps For example starting from the top, Long Beach California works, but New Sosaria ...

Re: 4-8-4 Northern FEF-3

I just tried these two updated engines and they look really nice! I wasn't expecting them to look so good in the roundhouse, but they do! http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w73/purepics/railmogul/reallyniceloco.jpg One question I do have - The speed of the engines is constantly the same whether it h...

BTW Warll when are you going to update the main 'Forums' nav button on smrsimple.com to point to these forums? Are you still testing this before it goes 'public'?
