Well, I figured out how to modify and save the xml file, but it is not taking effect in the game. I set it at "64" but it is still only taking 5 seconds per month.

sounds more to me like the problem is the file has been opened as read only. check the access flags for it, and that your not trying to edit the file while the game is running. Yes. I am trying to modify the time scale on the maps, but when I change the xml in word or note it says i need to change the filename to save it. Will changing the filename not mess up the scenerio?
