Re: Hawaii Map SAM
Hey guess what, I solved the problem. I know, I can hardly believe it myself. I reran everything and rezipped it and found the total file size was like 44MB, so clearly the original zip was corrupt, but the new one still didn't work after using Map Shifter to move it into a reset file structure. The...

Re: Hawaii Map SAM
By the way, please and thank you. I tend to be a very down to business kind of guy. Sometimes I forget to slow down for the pleasantries and polity of life, but that is my ongoing mod project.

Re: Hawaii Map SAM
Turns out it is .99GB, the SDSTrainCars0.fpk alone is 10MB and the SDSTrains0.fpk is 23MB. So that 7MB limit is the uploading problem. Something isn't right here. The original zipped installed files for the 3 parts total about 28MB. My zipped custom maps after install comes out to .99GB. The origina...

Re: Hawaii Map SAM
I'll try but whereas the Hawaii install is less than 1MB, the total in the SAM wannabe folder is like over 40MB apparently the B&R set of files is huge. I waited an hour last time I tried it and it still wouldn't upload. Any ideas on how to reduce the size beyond standard compressed folders, or to g...

Re: Hawaii Map SAM
So, I'm trying to attach the file but it won't go. Internet is really slow down here in South America where I'm at. Can I assume you already have, or can access the Basin and Range install, and the GP7, from the database here and just send the Hawaii install file? For now I'll assume the answer is y...

Re: Intercontinental Download Link?
& the Map Shifter will still work with SMRI? Or is it like Railroad Tycoon 3's Trainmaster Version, where you can still run either the original RT3 or the TM version.
Thanks ,

Re: Intercontinental Download Link?
I've got the Railroads w/ 1.10 patch and 3G enabled and regularly use your map shifter. Any problems running intercontinental with this? If I need to uninstall it, does it take all of Railroads with it, or just revert to the original install. Thanks

Hawaii Map SAM
Hello, There used to be a Hawaii map I liked to play. Since you went to the SAM maps I cannot find it anywhere. I think it was under maps in development. I have it downloaded and I've tried to make a SAM version of it but it just doesn't work. It required a certain train to be installed, so I added ...

Re: Enormous thanks and some questions
And
3) many maps used to say that they needed basin and range to run correctly, when converted to SAM maps was this need eliminated?

Enormous thanks and some questions
I was last into SMR heavily a couple years ago. Things changed and I'm back at it and what changes while I was away: 3G enabled, Map Shifter are the 2 biggies. The original game purchase was disappointing, then discovering this site made it enjoyable, and now it is totally awesome thanks to a lot of...

Re: request - GL class Garratt
FYI One of the first links that were posted originally had a link for a (side-view) drawing of the Garrat http://www.beyerpeacock.co.uk/Drawings/CLASSGMA.JPG Not only does this give a good side view as requested, it also has lots of train data including many dimensions. I'd imagine that is more info...

Tried this?
Hey, This was kind of cool. I wanted a map to showcase all the trains, tried to do it with a stock map, but did not work out quite like I wanted. I created a map with ten metropolis cities lined up on the left and ten lined up on the right. In my first iteration somehow the second city on the left g...

Hey, Just found out the short cut for switching modes is {alt enter}. It apparently is a problem only encountered by a few users, so there is likely some incompatibility on our systems that causes it. Most lock-ups, crashes and glitches (likely mini-crashes) are caused by errors reading memory, whic...

Stuck trains topic again?
Hey, I keep seeing and responding to that stuck train issue as I had figured out how to fix it, your answer simplifies it. I think on some systems the track checking gets stuck in a loop and bumping the graphics seems to break it out of the loop. I have been telling people how to manually unstick th...

Hey, I have posted this same thing on a couple of other related threads, but I´ll repeat it briefly here. I had the same problem and found I could fix it by switching the game to windowed mode and then back to full screen (without closing the options window). If you prefer windowed mode, just toggl...
