Its not an online one, but I rather liked the subhead I used in Wolf359

Re: New life for the railroads
That is exactly the problem at the moment Greybriar, according to the article Janseka posted. The tracks are NOT ususally in good enough condition to allow that sort of speed safely. I would assume that is why there is a speed limit of 70mph... though I thought the speed limit only applied to Inters...

Re: Known bugs/cheats and how to avoid them?
Nope, whoever that was is full of it. They're just upset cause you used your head and got yourself a real moneymaking line going hauling passengers and mail back and forth between two close cities.
Its niether a cheat, nor a bug. its your opponent looking for something to whine about.

Re: Ports in the cities?
Well in the map I am making it has passengers and mail but I found using the Sheep Farm was the cause of my problem with the port I am using so I swapped sheep out for cotton instead. That seems to have solved my problem. Hrrm. I wonder if this is what caused Colonia to crash? I think I had both an...

Lednard and Greybriar have pretty much summed it up for myself as well.

Re: RODEA MODDING: TRAIN
all of which only serves to remind me of one grouse I've almost always had with the whole genre. No provisions for having a caboose or a second engine. The B units are ok, but its not quite the same you know?

Re: Ultrapolis blablabla
Snoopy has a point... Its what I wound up doing for Wolf359. I'm also embarassed to note it took me a while to trace THAT error, being forced to a point of working one good at a time till I found it. Of course, once I realized just why it was crashing over beer, it was a total "oh you flipping IDIOT...

Re: speed vs load
The time period remains the same, the dollar amount goes up. A good rule of thumb is if your paying more per maintenence cycle than the maintenance of a newer engine, its time to replace or upgrade.

Re: How to install SAMs......
Well, the reason for the rename is because most of us NEVER throw ANYTHING out... and you might need those files sometime, like if you run across an older style globals map you want to play. In theory you could have just deleted it and as far as the game itself it would have had the same effect... B...

Re: speed vs load
I dunno if its the smart way... but I've never hung more than 3 cars off the Grasshopper just because if for some reason the cars DID all fill up the extra weight basicly emasculates the poor thing.

Re: 2 industrys using same import good?
Bob's point is this: If you've ever looked at the train when it turns around, it ends up basicly centred around the station. Ergo if you use 8 cars, your engine is now that much closer to the other end of the run. Especially if you use his trick of having the station trackage pared down to the bare ...

Re: speed vs load
But the game ISNT designed that way. Empty cars weigh 0.
Not half, 0
That being said, I do agree that at least from an asthetics viewpoint it doesnt make sense to have a 5-3 train on a run where most stops only have 2-1.
