Re: Green Mars SAM map

I have an issue with loading 'no-goods'. I can select the train and set up the route but as the carrages start to appear the game crashes to desktop. As a matter of interest why is the annex for these no- gooders at 10mill. Looks like a good map an look forward to playing it out in full.

Re: Borneo Island Map Final Release

I have the same problem with this map however it also happens with others as well. Just reload from the last autosave. You might even have to reload a couple of times but the crashes get less the further you get into this map. I gave up trying to figure out why the CTD's happen, accept them for bein...

Jancsika, you have 'done good' this is a very stable and good map. Big and involved so to keep the interest for several hours.

Re: Holidays In Ohio ToyTrains

Why not do a clean install of SMR and put Toy Trains in User Maps.Emptying folders seems to be a way to make mistakes.

Re: How in the world did he do this?

Assuming your opponent was an AI you can expect this to happen from time to time. The one map that I remember it happening was Amerigonia. There is nothing you can do about it. Let the AI do his thing and you buy him out as soon as you can and then you will get all those good assets. It appears the ...

Re: Toran War Map

Bunit, I take exception to your comments about the help offered and delivered by members of the forum and particularly Rodea. The basis of your posts seem to revolve around the method used to teach new modders. That is to evolve them step by step rather than giving them the final result. Consider. T...

Re: Maryland SAM

jancsika. I installed this map as per usual with SAMs, the same as you suggested but it just ctd's on building up steam. Tried putting FPKs into custom assets. No go. It's not to do with your building of the map as everyone else seems to be able to get theirs going, so it has got to do with my versi...

Re: Maryland SAM

I also had dramas getting this map to run. On a couple of maps I have to put the .fpk files into custom assets to get it to run. Dwax, if you end up getting this map to go would you please post how you did it. Jancsika, Is there anything different about your version of the game as I have difficultys...

RedKnight, I am agreat fan of your work on the Wiki particularly the relationship between speed, various bonuses' and passengers. Your contribution was really clever work and this is a public thank you and a pat on the back.

Re: Wisconsin V 1.0

captain tractor, To make life easier for yourself get rid of intercontinental and set up your game for SAMs. There is plenty of info here on what to do. The drama you are having was experienced by most players prior to SAMs or CICs. When you get organised the game runs better and you will enjoy it m...

Re: speed vs load

Citation, Suggest you go to the Wiki and read Red Knights paper on speed of trains and its relation to passengers and freight. It is very informative and easy to digest. Eventually you will come to the conclusion that if you work the passengers correctly you will make more money than any other indus...

Re: installing sam maps question

Vincep. i have had similiar problems to you with maps. Could you do the following for me to see what happens. Into a clean install of SMR load Chic to the Rockies SAM. Place the folder into UserMaps and try to play. By clean install I mean: In my games rename your present SMR folder to SMR original....

Re: Pretty Routing Pictures

Jancsika, I take your point about the tressel bridges. I dont like steel bridges all over the place either. I thought there might be a way to place track along certain terrain to try to keep the track reasonably level. Mine gets too wobbly and when you get up to the big jigger engines there speed ad...

Re: Pretty Routing Pictures

Darthdroid, as you are self confessed wizz at track laying perhaps you could look over Jansika's new map and give me the lowdown on how to lay tracks properly in this map without using expensive bridges. When I try to avoid bridges I tend to get uneven track which maybe cheap but looks crook. I have...
