I am SOOOOOOOO sorry Warll that I posted something without looking through the Wiki. I must be a total a-hole! Next time I'll take the extra time to browse through ALL this site before posting anything as I see this post has brought out a snide side of you. Reinvent the wheel? What kind of comment i...

It's a no-go

Hey fellow railroadians, I've been looking into the fact of only having the option for 12 buildable in-city industries displayed when we try to build an industry in a city. Well it seems that the size of the pop-out box that displays the industry choices is hard-coded into the game. I've attached tw...

Snoopy, I have all of those changed over to associate with the renamed files and have updated my global Industries file. It almost as if the buildup model has been swapped with the initial model. Choo, I made sure I grabs all those associated files. Even double checked as I did miss one of the textu...

Hey G3, the really strange thing about that was the files I was creating (saving) were listed as 32bit and NOT 24bit. So that was telling me the .tga files did have the alpha layer but was not activating it outside of Photo-Paint. It is really weird to say the least. But like I said, I figured it ou...

Custom Resources

I've created a custom resource " lumber mill" following this post by gforce on how to make copied in-city industries http://www.hookedforums.com/forwarder.html?http://www.hookedforums.com/a/viewtopic.php?t=1374 and all went well. I have the actual mill in the game and all the icons and traincars, et...

Snoop, by which you mean icons for Industries like say, an icon of a $ or money bag for the bank and a pillow or something for the Hotel and maybe the Star with straight Ribbons behind it for the Air Force. Is that what you had in mind?

These are great to have if creating a lot of maps as it stops the need to copy and paste so many industries and goods. We can just overwrite the xml in the newly created folder for the new maps and then make changes from there (ie. change RRT_Cities_Blank to RRT_Cities_ whatever-your-map-is-named . ...

Tav, this might be a little late but better late than never and I see that snoop really didn't answer your question. By default, any newly created map only has 14 industries put in the RRT_Industries_CUSTOM.xml file. They are Coal Mine, Furniture Plant, Cattle Ranch, Newspaper, Refinery, Oil Well, S...

WarII, I got it figured out as far as the icons go. Corel Photo-Paint is being mean and not saving the alpha channel for the .tga files. So I used GIMP and all is well, but thanx for the invite for help. Appreciate it.

Got it!

It seems I am unable to cox Photo-Paint into adding the alpha channel for the goods icons. So I fired up GIMP and lo-an-behold, success. My custom goods icons now show as the proper icon and not a pink square. Yea!

Damian, I found the following workable. It's the entire <RRTCitiesTypes> section of the global RRT_Cities.xml file I use. As you can see, I added two larger city sizes and they work just fine. I limit what goods would cause the city to grow or should I say, what the city demands and those can easily...

Hey, thx for the feedback.I believe I know what the prob is. It seems my alpha layer is not sticking to my .tga files. G3 - I put my icons in that folder with the same outcome, just the pink icons. I do think it's the alpha layer missing that's giving me those colored icons. Willie G - I do have tha...

Custom goods icons

I've searched and nothing. So I thought I might ask for some help. OK, I'm stumped. What I can not figure out is what directory my custom goods icons go in. I have the one that shows when you click to build a new industry in a city, but the icons on the industry and demands screen are pink. I am at ...
