Hello Hooked

Figured I would stop by and say hello. Had an itch so I reinstalled Railroads. Heh I played with version 1.0 last time I played. This time I will try v1.0.1.0 :) Really hate the bugs added in subsequent patches. I also don't like some of the features like the platforms (concrete station track.) Anyo...

Just Saying Hello

Just thought I would stop by and say hello. Decided to install the game again last week for a fourth or fifth time after putting it away. Been going through all the single player maps again :D Sure is a shame they never did an expansion for this game or a few more patches etc. However I am ready for...

Glad to see some people had some fun with it. I really had fun making that map. Just hopped on to see if by chance another patch had found it's way out or an unofficial patch or something.

Does everything look small at .9 track scale?

Laying track can definantly be tricky at times. Especially if you want it to look realistic. I spend millions of dollars placing track just to get it right in places. Large development will take extra time and planning and you will have to lay track several times to get the grades you want in places...

Doesn't really matter what you use as long as it handles all formats :) Only time I use zip is to uncompress. I've used Winrar for years though to compress stuff especially larger files that have to be broken down into volumes. The trial does say it exipres but it never stops working. Does 7-zip han...

That is incorrect. Winrar does not cost anything. The trial software works forever. You can however register to show support for the product and get rid of the ok button. Pkware was great in it's time but it's been obsolete for many years now. Winrar is a tiny program that handles many formats and h...

Very easy to test both compression methods. RAR is by far faster and has much better compression. Winrar is a great app that also handles zip files.

I would love to get rid of those station tracks. If you save and reload your game it will update them but they just don't look right unless they are going to conform to a proper standard of usage. I would love to see them gone at this point or a toggle. Smaller scale track to match Tender scale engi...

Actually I do :) See if you can find the one train with a problem and identify where it is. All you need is the Tender Mod for it to work.

Awsome map. I had some problems with the installer though. I had a clean install of Railroads patched to v1.10 with Tenders installed yet I wasn't seeing tenders. Problem was with the installer. No matter where I pointed the installer it will only decompress files to "My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier...

Here is a look at the layout. I have found one bug with one section of track. One switch that I added as a bandaid solution so I could finish an objective. I have since re-routed the train I used to haul the objective so there is no need for that switch anymore. Occasionally one of my trains would g...

Still Hooked on Railroads

Recently I've been playing alot of games and I was kind of burnt out so I decided to reinstall Railroads. Despite some of it's shortcomings and lack of support it is hard to beleive they would abandon a game this good. So much potential for greatness here and while some of it was tapped into there w...

Firaxis if you are out there we are long past the turkey dinner day. We need an update on the next patch :) We don't want no bandaids either we want a quality patch that fixes LOTS of issues :) God I hope they didn't fire and forget this game due to poor sales. I have no idea how well the game did t...

I have successfully completed three games of Germany Delux online with tendersv3 installed but nothing else. It does seem to have some problems starting up at times though with some clients. When in doubt always test with a fresh install and no mods. BC Gold was a bit more fussy so I left it for sin...
