Eastern Europe map, centred on Ukraine (Poland, Russia, etc)

If you'd like to try my new Eastern Europe (ukraine) map, it can now be downloaded from my web site, at http://www.mike.kennelly.dsl.pipex.com/ ... /index.htm

Stretches from Poland to Iraq, and from Russia to the Balkans.

Hope you like it.

Liverpool and Manchester vs UKPennines

Its true. Liverpool and Manchester did it first - but you'll find my UKPennines map does it differently, there are lots of the more minor towns included, not just the major cities, and it extends further to the north. Thats not to suggest my map is better, just - different. Hope you enjoy it!

UKPennines - Peaks and Dales in the North of England

UKPennines - a new 15x15, UK based map by Mike Kennelly This scenario covers the hilly northern region of England, extending North from the cities of Liverpool, Manchester and Sheffield, to include part of the Lake District in the North West, and the sparsely populated Yorkshire Dales. The seaside t...

UKLargeMP map

Originally posted to 'britain' thread in Mods - Talk, now I've read the guidelines on where to upload maps, I'm putting it in the correct place... Attached is a working version of my "UKLargeMP" map for you to try out, if you like. It works for me (and I think plays reasonably well), but I can't gua...

Don't know if this will work, but do check that <MapSize> nn </MapSize> parameter is correct in your RRT_Scenario_(mapname).xml - this usually varies from 10 to 15, but for a 961 pixel wide .tga, mapsize would need to be 16. I found out the hard way that if your scenario's mapsize doesn't agree with...

I've attached a working version of my "UKLargeMP" map for you to try out, if you like. It works for me (and I think plays reasonably well), but I can't guarantee no crashes etc... Key features: - 15x15 map size (based on Firaxis' original UK scenario) - supply and demand fiddled with - 23 new cities...

I ran a test in the terrain editor... I painted "islands" into the terrain height map at the top of the map .tga file, using Paint Shop Pro. The sea is black, R=0, G=0, B=0. Each island is a different, precise shade of grey... "32 island" - R=32, G=32, B=32 "64 island" - R=64, G=64, B=64 (etc.) In t...

... and here's the screenshot I promised.

Here I've imported the UK scenario terrain map (i.e. top 601x601 pixels of the .tga file) and am fiddling with erode, smooth, gaussian edges etc.
