Many thanks for they reply so promptly Stormfather. I already wondered if the file would need to be shifted to that location.. thanks for the confirmation. It is not required to move it from the UserMaps directory. If you do move to the CustomAssets folder you will need to put it in CustomAssets/XM...

I don't think it can be modified in the XML. It is hardcoded number somewhere in the game EXE or some DLL. Can anyone confirm that? I did a quick search and did not turn up the location in any of the XMLs or the main EXE (its not in the DLLs that I can tell, they are all thirdparty stuff). It is ce...

WoW, that would be pretty imipressive if you could do that. The biggest issue I'd imagine will be parsing the Globals to see if the new info is already in them. If you do start this project you might want to make a new thread to discuss the developement as I'm sure there are people that would be in...

I am thinking of developing an extension to NSIS ( http://nsis.sf.net ) which will help automate the addition of "custom" resources to the "global" files. I have no ETA for this (yet), I will see if I have time for this addition shortly. Once I create it I will create installers for the existing map...

Maybe I'm missing something. I think the map is awesome and I applaud the hard work that went into it. However at least in table mode, the game starts off on the west coast which is badly pushed against the left side. You can barely see San Fransisco at all. Also, all the west coast cities are call...

Here is a link to instructions on how to use the PakBuild.exe tool for Civ4, instructions should apply to RR as well.

Anyone try this map? I'm scared to try and mess up my XML's  I just ran a version of this map that I translated using some of the online translation sites and a bit of extrapolation. Attached is what I came up with, unfortunately I truncated the description of the scenario since I couldn't com...

I have 2GB and I only played the 256 map. The other two I just loaded them into Single Player to see if they would load. I will play with the 400 map a little to see if it crashes and I may make a better Australia if it works okay. Don't know if you can add stuff to them in the Terrain Editor and s...

A good idea, another suggestion is to ensure that the zips (if you post them online) do not contain the extra files which are "common" to all of the maps.

Re: First Attempt With DEM Data

Okay guys, this is my first attempt at using Digital Elevation Map data. I grabbed the GTopo30 data of the world and created a Height Map and Terrain Map from it then pieced it together into the TGA composite image. I then loaded up Railroads and created a 225 sq unit map and saved it. Closed Railr...

Re: here ya go

Wow, good job you guys. You give hope to the rest of us. I save the game every 5-10 minutes or so on any map I play. Especially if I am doing well. I have only completed 3 objectives so far, and I created the map! I got lucky and found one of those auto-save games from a few years earlier. Unfortun...
