I am thinking its North East Corridor.
Washington DC to New York City, perhaps all the way up to Boston.
The NEC is basically the "Northeast U.S." map in the one shipped with the game.

Signal Towers
The same thing happens with me. I lay down some track and end up with 10 signal towers in a row. I delete all the little sections of track and then replace with 1 new section.

Maps needing modding
Snoopy, One of the other confusing items is CUSTOM MAPS v USER MAPS. Some maps say they should be up in User Maps but the installer puts it in Custom Maps. I really enjoy playing SMR, but my brain has problems decipher where everything goes. (The stroke 2+ years ago has something to doing with that....

3 Maps, etc
I have problems with 2 of the maps.
Africa Challenge and Ohio Large -- Each of the maps has 1 (that I have found) the old problem with a red dot, then CTD.
Africa Diamonds plays well

Objective Score
Every scenario will have different objective scores. You get 2 points toward the total score for each objective you complete within the era. Completing all the objectives in a era also add 2 more points. Finishing all of the objectives in a scenario will give you another 5 points. Most of the origin...

No Car loading
This is the first time I've seen this -- I make my first rail connection, start at the supply farm/mine, then I cannot load the cars. The car icon is grayed out.
Hmmmm.

Map loading sequences
A couple weeks ago I tried to make a full, clean install, including all of the users maps. URGH - a disaster. So, I have been only playing basic maps and a couple user maps that do not change the XMLs. It appears to me that the order in which the maps are installed may be the culprit? It would be he...

Objective Score
By "Victory" points, I am guessing you mean Objectives. The Bradygames Official Strategy Guide says: For every scenario objective you complete (duirng its era), you receive 2 points towards your total score. FYI, The Prestige score is based on.... +1 for winning an auction of ab kind (patent or indu...

Blacked out stations
Make sure the tracks connect fully in all directions. The connections needs to make a "Y" so they can travel from one place to another. Just branching off only allows the trains to travel on one leg of the branch. Hope this makes sense for you. A screen shot would be helpful if you need more help.

Great Britain Map - Passengers
Kennelly,
I have tried the map a couple times. I have noticed that I do not get paid for delivery of passengers.
Not too sure if I can figure why - probably a problem in the XML?
Good map - plays better if gets paid for passengers.
