the buyout price you see is not the buyout price your competitor sees. Most of the time anyway. IF your competitor had more shares in your company than you held yourself, then his buyout price will have been lower. The only time the price is the same is when you both control the same amount of stock...

too often the computer players have layouts that to me appear somewhat insane- and often block line expansion from some stops. Plus, the computer players have the ability to micromanage the train consists, which rather leaves a lot of re-routing to do. I tend to liquidate unless it'll help me quickl...

There is another way- if you take over a competitor with a station in the same city, you can run a train between the two stations if you link them. Highlight the actual stations themselves if you need to upgrade either.
