A couple of points: You're right that some of the team have moved on. I left back in April and am living in Austin, TX now, working for NCSoft. The game's lead programmer, Casey O'Toole, is now working for Bethesda Softworks on Fallout 3. The rest of the team, as I understand it, are busy working on...

The guide button should have been removed in one or two tool menus, but I just forgot in the holiday rush :( Fix World basically updates the graphics for most of the world entities after you've modified them. It's a very CPU expensive job to re-build all these things that normally don't move once th...

Don't know what the sales numbers look like for SMR yet, but Pirates quietly sold close to a million units and won numerous Game of the Year awards, despite being passed around and re-released between publishers in the midst of Atari's financial problems a year or two back. Frankly, for SMR to be co...

Re: patch and holiday scenario
I don't really think it matters, but I'd apply the patch first. The holiday scenario shouldn't overwrite anything, it should be installed to its own folder, IIRC...atani wrote:Should we apply the patch or the holiday scenario first? Does it matter? I would hope it doesnt.

Functionality - Cities can now accept raw materials directly from resources properly. What does this mean? Delivering ore to a city that has ore->steel, steel->cars will get you cars ? No, it's a mod thing. We discovered, as a result of making the Santa scenario, that the game didn't like it when y...

Railroads v1.100 Patch Changelog
The final version of patch 2 is going to be released to QA today, and I expect us to sign off on it before Christmas. As I mentioned in the past, this patch was primarily a feature patch with particular focus on fixing up the terrain editor we used to make the in-game maps with. There are some other...
