Not a bubble burster
Everything above in favor of Railroads is true and accurate. One should be aware, however, that there is a small percentage of users that have had significant problems with game crashes and freezes even after the patches. These problems appear to be specific to certain and not yet completely identif...

Why, oh why, do I continue to torture myself. Railroads still sits near my CD drive ready to spin when it should long ago have been relegated to the lowest slot on the CD rack. I search new posts daily only to find the latest news is that Vista is just another operating system and that general chat ...

I too wait patiently for Firaxis to move on these issues. In the meantime, I've downloaded the Railroad Tycoon 3 DEMO and have had more uninterrupted playtime (no CTD) on the two given scenarios than all of the default and user created maps for Railroads. It's likely I'll purchase that game to tide ...

Not overclocked
Nothing is overclocked, OS was reinstalled not more than two weeks prior to first install, all new Display and Audio drivers, registry has been cleaned, disk optimized, files compressed, lawn mowed, honeydoos completed, i just wanna play Railroads......

But will it run?
I sicerely do hope there are some hidden patches that will let it run more than an hour or so without freezing. I may be a minority here but I still can't play for too long without either a CTD or simply being locked up. Curiously enough, I'm having so much fun with it I've been tolerating the crash...

Single player big bucks
I've seen something like this too in single player. Every now an then I saw a train switching directions and building cash just as you described above. I finally noticed that this sometimes happened just after I added a new stop on the trains route. Now I'm pretty sure that it can happen when you ad...

Loops are a big problem
Yes, I almost exclusively use full loops just as I would no a table layout. I agree that the loops are a problem. I'm still getting CTD's and freezes but they do seem to happen more frequently once I've created at least one loop.

Response?
Nothing...
Well, I'm waiting for someone to tell me to roll back my video dirvers and disable my dual core.
I'll do that right after I go refill my gas tank with kerosene and pull a couple of spark plug wires.

Everybody happy?
Is everyone so happy with the patch that they've quit posting or have you moved to some other forum? While there were quite a few improvements, there are still some basic problems and there doesn't seem to be much discussion about them. Not considering gameplay issues and changes on a wish list of h...

It seems to me the majority of opinion I have read are in my camp. The difference being those who want Civ4 in a locomotives skin and those who just want to play with toy trains. Toy trains with a bit of simulation/strategy appears to be the design so, in my opinion, that's the direction it should ...

Longer Trains and more
Aside from all the already mentioned improvements I've a couple of things on my wish list. First: Any consumer of goods will accept ALL of the goods at the first stop. Producers and converters (grain to food for example) always show how many carloads they can supply but no matter what the train rout...
