Another thing that has been driving me nuts - I am unable to make crossings on bridges, which can be rather important in the latter stages of a game.

Haven't tested yours yet, but have you corrected "Weis" to "WeLs"? Actually, the better city for that area would be "Linz" which is about 4 times as big as Wels (and always was a steel center).
