You have to use map shifter to load the map into the user map area. Didn’t know that I just went into the zip file and copied and pasted it. When i used the map shifter it showed up normal and was able to play the whole game. Thanks

If you try to run an engine that does not have the file(s) for it, you will get a red dot. The red dot for where the mine is means that the files seem to be messed up.

Go here: http://smrsimple.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=4699 and try that copy. It uses a folder for the files and not an FPK. Put everything into UserMaps.

You can also try this site: http://www.sidmeiersrailroads.net/ That site has over 180 maps posted and a few more on the way.

Also on the map it shows only a red dot where the mine is. Yes I’m running Patch 1.10. Running Windows xp. I even tried to run just Deluth depot start over to the mine and it crashes when I place a depot. Thanks

Both ran the Taconite ore mine to Deluth route just fine.
Do you have anything in CustomAssets?
Are you upgraded to the RailroadsPatch1.10?
What version of Windows are you using? I have 8.1 and the largest maps refuse to work correctly. This map has darkened ground in blocks around the trees. I suspect that if I run it longer it will crash with a lot of trains running. My brother, who is using Win 10, has no problem running any of the maps. For some people it depends on the system they are running.

Every time I try to connect Taconite ore mine to Deluth the game crashes. Doesn’t matter if it’s in game mode or table top mode. Doesn’t matter if I use a “clean” user folder with only this map installed or if I add other locomotives or what-have-you to the map. It simply does not like the Taconite mine. Any ideas?]]> So.. here’s an interesting failure mode. Every time I try to connect Taconite ore mine to Deluth the game crashes. Doesn’t matter if it’s in game mode or table top mode. Only challenging for me was 30 passenger from Chicago to Denver in time, but I found solution for that second time. Other than that it’s no problem.

I had a similar problem as Socrates (though not the one with the hemlock) where when I upgraded my fish train from Green Bay to Milwaukie, it crashed unless I did it a step at a time i.e. upgrade locomotive first, then add additional cars etc.

Every time I try to connect a Taconite Car (ore or pellets) to any locomotive newer than the Consolidation, the game crashes. Doesn’t matter if it’s in game mode or table top mode.
