I'm re-skinning wingsophoenix's GS-4 to make SP 4449 in black BNSF colors. Does anybody know how to make re-skins work in SMR?

For many of my reskins I only had to change the DIFF and possibly the NRML files, although on some of WingsofPheonix's mods I think it requires a modeling program, but I don't have one to test out my idea.

you can Test Blender as Freeware or 3ds Max as payware for Blender you need some Addons to import and export nif Files

Where can I find these add-ons? The only thing I found was something for 3Ds- and g-max.
Also, why not use the GS-6 tender rather than recolor the entire GS-4 tender?

I've got the train working in the game. Now I have another problem: The GS-4 re-skin still shows the Daylight textures (not BNSF) in the game. Any way to fix that?

You probably need to change both the DIFF files and the models.

yes you have to look in Nifskope wich File is attached


//Addons for blender you got on niftools yust google it :D

also you can do new models with ediding existing or create one in blender

... or you could just ask me for the base texture file without the daylight paintsheme. :lol:
I cant see how it would help to change the model for a different skin, its all in the DIFF. Thats the only place where those colors are. :roll:

I think I figured it out, I had to keep the original name of the DDS file texture. Update coming soon.
