Questions about train design
Questions about train design
What puzzles me is this:
We have oodles of re-skinned GP38-s and GP-7 plus some new Diesel electric engines. This seems to me ecological regression, because the world is going the other directions.
Europe, India, Japan, China are moving towards the clean, non-polluting all electric locomotives, and there are some gorgeous electric trains out there.
Why not try some of them???

Re: Questions about train design
To make basic model from that country what you are talking above, I think is not difficult, but to add skin for those model, we have to have several images from that train, if we do not have those images, so we can't build that enginesJancsika wrote:What puzzles me is this:

Re: Questions about train design
If I have a time I can do that, but I'm not retired yet, so I had to work to earn money to provide for my family life, but if someone can take those pictures, I think I can help to make a model with my ability to 3ds maxJancsika wrote: Have you tried Google???

Re: Questions about train design
I know you can, and rest assured that if and when I’ll need one of those, I’ll will turn to you.If I have a time I can do that, but I'm not retired yet,
Besides you and Burlington_Northern_3140 are the only one who has come up with some original designs.
I would like to see some of our other members to try their hand on some new design. I have seen some very exciting electric locomotives around.

Re: Questions about train design
Please release the train, I made it for me and for the community, feel free to release it alone or in one of your maps.
I would do others, but unhappily I didn't discover as doing the skin instances.

Re: Questions about train design
With due respect, I don’t think this type of mods need an installer.but it takes time to make the installer,
Everybody who worth his salt (in this case knows what he/she is doing), will know that the Assets folder can go either in the UserMaps or CustomAssets folder. Since there is a 2-way choice the installation should be left to the user of the Mods.
The XML files (even with the Installer) have to be placed manually.
A simple ZIP file would due equally well.
(Saving you some work, so you can play with your children)

I've always wanted to see some trolleys in the game... If you need skins I can paint them for you very happily.

Re: Questions about train design
I have not done any locomotive skinning, but what I see you need 3 or 4 view (elevation in architecture): Side, Front, Top, and maybe rear. And they should be straight views, not perspectives.
It can be done with a little graphic manipulation, but the starting pictures ought to be fairly well detailed.
Am I correct????
