- Dwax have 6.81 Mb
in the same place (America)

I see that. The only thing i can think is mine has the no CD fix in it.

Jancsika's EXE is 12.226 Mb and Dwax's is 7.498 Mb. Mine, on the other hand, is 14.618 Mb. This is probably because I do not need the CD to play..

What is the source of your game guys, CD or download?

My CD version is 11,940 KB, that is what was uploaded.
The No CD version would be 14,276 KB.
Does the windows version make any difference? Mine is Vista home premium.

I didn't have problem with Pounds Sterling symbol when use Jancsika and dwax railroad.exe for play The Island Of Sodor Map, that's symbol showed normally as Pounds Sterling Symbol, So the Jancsika and dwax problem must be in the Windows System, and I did some looking around in my windows system and I guess Jancsika and dwax needs to try the step below :
- Open your Control Panel then select Date, Time, Language and Regional Option then select Regional and Language Options.
- in the form of Regional and Language Options look at Tab and select Advanced ( see picture below ) and you needs to remarks code page conversion tables, scroll down and choice what you are needed, just it and try it
Note: maybe you need CD/DVD Windows Installer to apply changes that you do

You are correct Snoppy ...I just read the rar file.....

Mine, on the other hand, is 14.618 Mb. This is probably because I do not need the CD to play..

I have Railroad.exe with 13,9 Mb size and not need the CD to play it's as like you....

I just read it

I just sent an Email to 2K about it asking how they do it. They use the £ symbol in the UK map, but copying it into another map will not work. Have you tried using other types of editors such as Wordpad or some professional type?
Just had a thought (ouch!). I tried copying the UK section andpasting it into Notepad++, then naming it as an XML file and it didn't seem to have a problem with the Pound symbol. Try that and give us a report. Try a few other programs to write it also.

I didn't use any program to copying £ symbol from RRT_Scenario_05_UK.xml to RRT_Scenario_The Island of Sodor Map.xml, just select £ from RRT_Scenario_05_UK.xml then press Ctrl+C ( copy) and then open RRT_Scenario_The Island Of Sodor.xml then press Ctrl+V (paste) just it, when run the map the £ symbol showed normally. .....

I have just checked the first Sodor: it had $ in the scenario file. No trouble playing it.
In the second you have changed the line in the Scenario.XML to Pound, but that did not effect the basic game setup.

Appearently once you start with one type of currency you have to stick with it.
It has nothing to do with the Executive file.
It is a basic Firaxis goof.
