In 1863 the Union Pacific Railroad started laying track westward from Omaha, Nebraska as the Central Pacific Railroad started laying track eastward from Sacramento, California. Your task is to complete the eastward portion of the Transcontinental Railroad and then expand the Union Pacific's rail network into the southwestern and northwestern United States.

This is a one player SAM (Stand Alone Map), played on a 20 x 20 map. It features a few new goods and industries, some new steam whistles and a little new music. The map consists of 3 Eras. In Era 1 you will complete the eastern portion of the Transcontinental Railroad. Era 2 will take you into the southwestern section of the US and Era 3 will expand the Union Pacific into the old northwest.

In 1863 there was little industry west of the Missouri River. What you need, you will have to build. I hope you enjoy the map. Please check the ReadMe text file for some additional information. Good luck!

The Union Pacific has been updated to version 2. Two files were changed - an industry icon was repaired and the RRT_Difficulty.xml was changed to make the game winnable from the highest difficulty playing levels. My thanks to railage for his testing and work on the Difficulty.xml file. I you have not downloaded the map before, the changes are included in version 2. If you have previously downloaded the map, the attached zip file contains the two updated files. Simply over-write the existing files with these and you will be up to date.

Thanks to all that have given this map a try.
