Borneo Island Map Final Release

Post by Rodea2007 » Sun Nov 15, 2009 1:07 pm

Borneo Island Map Final release already available at the address below in form of rar file
format and divided into 5 files

1. http://rodea2007.yolasite.com/resources ... taller.r00
2. http://rodea2007.yolasite.com/resources ... taller.r01
3. http://rodea2007.yolasite.com/resources ... taller.r02
4. http://rodea2007.yolasite.com/resources ... taller.r03
5. http://rodea2007.yolasite.com/resources ... taller.rar

Dowload all 5 files then put on 1 Folder then extract file number 5, so you can get Setup Rodea2007 Map Borneo Island Map Scenario1.1.exe
as usual you only need click the Installer then everything will be finished.
I was checked that this map need 1.4 Gig memory to run normal, so you need memory not less than 2 Giga if using XP.
Please READMEFIRST.txt before you install this map

Notes...
This map provides the Song of opening menu namely "Gending Sriwijaya" that is not usual to use and if this map is already installed on your computer, then as the song of opening menu this song will be played, but if you do not like this song go to CustomAssets\Sounds\Soundtracks folder and delete the file Namely OpeningMenu.mp3, so Song of opening menu will return to the default song
I will launch a patch to fix this event in this map, but I will see developments that occurred after you run this Map.
I need not say much, please play and enjoy what you get and if you have problems, please post your problem on this forum, I will try to help

Have fun......and Enjoy it

Rodea2007

Edit//
you can type the blue word "BIMinstaller" (without quotes) when you get Password message when open the rar file, and don't forget to remember the Password is case Sensitive

Notice to the picture below :
That is a picture from Windows Task Manager, you can see how much memory is used when your computer running. see detail on the red square, that is memory used by Borneo Island Map when running on the beginning Era, it was about 1.2 Gb, that meant if you moving to second era or third era there will be more memory is needed, it will be used to display more graphics as villages had turned to the metropolis, where in the metropolis conditions which to be more the of the building will appear

There is a program called “Gamebooster” (Google it), that will temporary shut down all unnecessary loaded programs, hence increase your memory available for the game.
It will work in XP and also in Vista.

I am trying to run the game in Windows 7, where I have 3 MB free memory.

Great map!
I am running it in Windows 7 64 bit, Vista Service pack #2 compability.
I like your new TrainCars, these are the things thet Sid could have had.( Maybe in Railroads! II.) They need longer station track, maybe 4 cars to a train. Otherwise they hang over the switches.
Fortunately Borneo is huge map. Plenty of room for the tracks and the stations.

The longer the trains the more MONEY you get!!!! It's a good thing. Trust me. Unless it is you oppentent that has the long train, you are just fine.

I seldom play against opponents.
I like those big scenario requirements where one has to haul 500 carloads of this and 1000 carloads of that.
Also I like to have a realistic look. The trains hanging over the switches cause delays of the incoming traintraffic. Also I avoid the "dedicated tracks".(one train to a track).

That is understandable. Switches are cool. Ya know, some real railways do experiance delays from trains that don't fit into sidings. Dedicated tracks are realistic if you are looking to make money. In your case, they make your railway ugly and are not that realistic in the sense that they do not meet the goals of your railway. I guess my rant is over. Enjoy.

Another way to get the Installer for this map, please go to this address http://hawkdawg.com/rrt/smr/smrr.htm
in there provided Installer for Borneo Island Map in form only 1 rar file, (hawk who has done it), and without password, but I think you must be a member there once before, if not I guess you will not be able to download the file

Well, I managed to finish the scenario, with a few years to spare, but only at investor level. I wonder whether someone else can do better.... 8)

Very clever little traps and difficulties in the map Rodea and great fun! Towards the end I had a clockwork operation, no need for manual intervention except upgrading engines to reduce maintenance costs.

No map-related crashes at all. I did find it difficult to restart a saved game after logging off from the computer. The only possible restart for me was to start SMR, then switch to the selection of stock maps, then switch back to start a fresh Borneo game, then load the saved Borneo game from there.
