Styx

This is just my first working scenario. At least it's not crashing all the time.

Great a new map.

I like the Seven deadly sins theme going on there and the red ocean - reminded me of playing Doom 3

A good first working scenario. No CTD's that's a start.

What about the town Hole stuck in a mountain hole very well hidden and you have placed some thought in locations of various towns and cities.

Some friendly feedback: just to help in the next version.

Remove all your tender cars from your RRT_TrainCars_Styx.xml as the tender mod does not work. see various posts http://www.hookedgamers.com/forums/view ... 5564#15564

The running 300 loads of passengers and mail gets a tad boring.
see island chain and some of snoopy55 maps where they are throwing around some different ideas. sorry

For example things like grape farms must have nitrate to the farm and then the grapes have to go to a winery

Space the goods out a bit.

Thanks for the feedback.

Personally, I like running passengers. I let the goods be randomly placed which I suppose means they end up fairly close together. None of them seem to end up around the cities furthest from the center.

Hi Cage

The more I play this map the more I like it.

I notice there is no Cornmeal (its mentioned in RRT_Goods_Styx.xml)

In RRT_Industries_Styx.xml I added

Code: Select all

<RRTIndustry>
<szName>Grain Farm</szName>
</RRTIndustry>
Restarted new game now shows about 5 (4) cornmeal / grain farms. :D

Yep I re counted and it added 4 farms to a new game.

What I did was just followed what Cage did. That is the map will randomly place these.

I don't enough to say that it will give you 1 or 6 etc but as I said I got 4 farms. (this was in a new game, didn't show in a saved game.)

Does anyone know how any would it add or should add as being set to random?

dwax - unless each is specified, there will be 1 to 4, random, each time you play.

K-class - if you look 2 down from the Food Plant, there is Corn Fields. Doesn't work, but the thought was there.........

That needs to be changed in the download and Installer.
I'm correct 97% of the time..... who cares about the other 4%....

Hi Cage, thanks for the map - it looked cool and was fun to play. Had it on mogul-medium with one ai, and it was fairly easy to reach the goals so it would be quite tough on the harder levels, which is good. I agree with k-class though - once i'd connected the big cities and made the 80million, I just sped it up and let it run out until i had all the passengers and mail. Would have been more interesting to have a wider variety of goals for the 3rd level, and fewer pass/mail. Other than that, it was great.
