Hey D

I have traced all crashes in this map. That was the last one to be fixed. I think it got missed in the crush of talking about other maps. On my machine it crashes on the retire screen but that dont affect loading maps after. Does your machine have the Java console enabled ? If so start IE & select it Then press g ( garbage dump ). Do this after a crash while the game is running but before you try to start to load another map ( it may help or not ). Also it may help to empty temp files before you start your game. These fixes may seem odd but you would be suprised what has an effect on gameplay. I dont have game ctds at all except for new maps ( or the couple like this one ) & I have 41 installed maps.

Ok now point me to the bar car

EDIT
Crashes on save for me too D, dont have any problem reloading others though.

Think I am going to uninstall and reinstall again. For some reason only the old size 10 maps are working.

Anything bigger is crashing at Building Up Steam.

Okay Re-installed and stuck Andes back in, it works. Also changed the Quayle.xml to the default one in the Scenario and I can retire np now.

Retire

Please say exactly what you did with the Quayle file. From where to where ? And just what is the Quayle file ? You think it makes the AI act like the once American Vice President ? If so no wonder its so stupid, eh.

The Quayle file defines what the names and/or pictures are for the retirement screen. This XML file is referenced from the scenario XML file.

This is a map I am going to play around with. I got out my trusty plastic covered requirments list and my dry erase marker, and it has problems. It shows Nitrates, but no Sheep Farm, even tho there is a depot for it. I added Wool and all the cars needed and still no Sheep Farm.

As to the Quayle, I cannot see anything in the XML that would cause a problem. there are only the 2 top names changed.

I'm going to play with this a bit and see what can be done.

Hey,

This is what a portion of the scenerio.xml will look like.

<GoodsXMLFile>RRT_Goods_Central_Andes.xml</GoodsXMLFile>
<IndustriesXMLFile>RRT_Industries_Central_Andes.xml</IndustriesXMLFile>
<NamesXMLFile>RRT_Names_Central_Andes.xml</NamesXMLFile>
<QuayleXMLFile/>
<TrainCarsXMLFile>RRT_TrainCars_Central_Andes.xml</TrainCarsXMLFile>

I changed the Quayle to this

<QuayleXMLFile>RRT_Quayle.xml</QuayleXMLFile>

And it doesn't crash anymore when I click retire.

To clerify it a bit for Slappy:

Change this:

<QuayleXMLFile>RRT_Quayle_Central_Andes.xml</QuayleXMLFile>

To this:

<QuayleXMLFile>RRT_Quayle.xml</QuayleXMLFile>

If this causes you a headache, drink 8 dark Lagers and fall in the morning.
