Newb question concerning track/station depots

Post by DaveHorn » Wed May 30, 2007 12:16 am

Hi folks. Got this game for myself and my seven year old to enjoy and it seems to fit the bill wonderfully. Stumbled upon this website and it looks to be an excellent resource with lots of friendly and helpful folks.

I had a question about something I see in the Wiki pages that I don't understand. In the track laying section of Wiki (http://www.hookedgamers.com/wiki/Sid_Me ... ads!:Track) there are pictures of an Aberdeen station that appears to have more then one depot. This isn't possible is it? I'm confused about what I see here. I'm sure I am missing something obvious, if anyone could shed some light on this I would appreciate it.

Direct link to pictures I am referring to

The other station is or was owned by an AI.

What you are seeing is a station for the player in the example and a station for an AI. Another possibility, if this is an online game, another player. A town or annex (mine, farm etc) can have up to 4 stations/loading platforms, depending on how many are playing.

And welcome to the forum!

And ask all the questions you want
I'm correct 97% of the time..... who cares about the other 4%....

Wow thanks for all the quick reponses! I haven't been brave enough to try multiplayer yet. I kind of figured you had to hook into the existing depot that was already there somehow.

Ok great! Now if your going to become a regular you have to post your specs in your sig. Its the rules.

The pictures were from a single player game, played with 2 current ai opponents, as seen in the upper-right corner in the net worth/stock panel. As others have said, there could be up to 3 other depot/annex installations besides yours in a game.

PS - No rule about including specs, in fact usually forums enforce just the opposite.
PPS - Playing multi-player games is not an option for me.

I'm not much on tradition, but it is useful when people are having problems.

Not so much for trouble shooting as as an excuse to show off our sweet rigs.
How and its interesting to read other people's specs.

Its all good, but I don't know all my specs and I'm too lazy too look. Intel Core Dual 2, 2GB ram, blah blah blah :)

Lets just say its just good enough to play the game and unfortunately its my only computer good enough to play the game. That darn hardware pixel thing has gotten me on another game before too... at least one PC I have can play this game.
