Sorry I havent been around lately. I work out of town. Ok the thing with these is to back up your traincars0 file, put it in safe spot. Now open traincars0 file with pakbuilder. All my files were put into individual files so you could pick and choose the cars you wanted to use. Unrar all of then to their folders then drop the files in the unzipped folders into you newly extracted traincars0 folder overwriting the originals. All should work as I have tested. Have fun! Thx for downloading.

From what i remember eilelwen can not un-pak the files. Thats why this is holding him up. Right eilelwen?

If eilelwen is wanting to unpack FPK files, dowload Dragon UnPACKer 5 or FpkPacker, both of which let you unpack and pack FPK files and, the best part, they are FREE :D

neither of those work, the D2D version pck are encoded or something, none of the unpackers I have tried work.. and I need the most files from the two patches unpacked so I can update the XML files corectly.

I think you're doing a great job with all this, but it's all a little difficult to understand.

I'm trying to make a new steam engine for the game (New York Central 4-6-4 Hudson), but I'm having a hard time getting my head wrapped around all of this.

I don't think that there will be a response here from a two year old post.
BUT
