If we could remind them, I'm sure they'd be happy to release them! The only problem being that things have been really quiet around Firaxis! I hope they will come out of their shell soon!

No...they bought their models. I don't believe they are permitted to release the 3D Max files. All they are permitted to do is make models from the master files, not release the master files to the public.

PaintShop pro needs a plugin to be able to handle DDS files. There is one out there for Photoshop that will work with Paintshop Pro.
I 've used Paintshop pro since the beginning, but just recently switched over to GIMP. (it is free) It will also need a plugin, but it works great and much better for transparencies and alpha channels. Once you get used to it, it is more intuitive and easier to use.
