US GP38-2?

Post by Burlington_Northern_3140 » Mon Jun 02, 2008 11:50 pm

How do you bring an engine in and out of blender? I found out how to make a square by accident and found a tutorial on how to move in 3d space. I plan on adding a rectangle in the space in the picture that I have taken in nifskope. The red are the lines that already exist the purple don't exist yet. The rectangle will have its base on the red and purple lines and come out from there. I also found tutorials on how to texture the rectangle I am going to add. This would allow me to make a more common GP38-2. Thanks

Import and export with Blender can be done one of 2 ways. The best method is by adding blender NIF scripts to Blender. with that you can import and export the NIF format without error, or at least very little. The data for that can be found by searching for NIF Tools at Sourceforge.

The other method is to export from NifSkope as an OBJ then import back into Blender as an OBJ.

When I select the OBJ there are selections. Which should I choose?

Well if you have not tried, just leave the selections as default. Just so you know what looks like what, the items that are light blue are set to off and the ones that are dark blue are on. Once you import the item, it will be standing on its tail with it's top as front and the front as top. If you where to import in the NIF format, the front and back are reverse. Not a big problem, just annoying. Let me know if you need any more help, I will try to monitor this thread to provide assistance. Just be careful as to what you eliminate, since you will have to start over. Blender, like all graphics programs , has been known to make sinners out of saints. Good luck.
