SD40-2?

Post by Burlington_Northern_3140 » Thu May 22, 2008 12:22 am

Would anyone be interested in building an SD40-2? It would be nice too have a larger EMD engine than the GP38-2, without the Canadian roof. You can find info on it here:

Turbo Squid has one made in several file formats. It is one of the new trains I want to get and place in this game. Could model one from scratch, but that takes some time to do.

Awsome! I would be glad to repaint it into many railroads.

...yup...and there are many more pages of them and train cars. Each model should have four or five file extent ion types for the various 3D art soft wares out there...LWO for Lightwave max and others.
Most of my modeling is done in Lightwave or Vue 'd Esprit or several others. I downloaded the nif tools for blender, I spend enough money on Lightwave stuff, I don't need to start in with Max as the add-ons get many and expensive.

The models would have to be sized up in the nif file, a dummies file will need to be made. Could make one from the games gp38 dummies nif file...you would have to click on the yellow strands with the round ends...then edit the X, Y and Z positions of them to line up with the trains wheels set. In that same area is where you set the length and general size of the model.
