Train Maintenance

Post by mikeyc » Sun Sep 02, 2007 11:20 am

Would someone be good enough to explain how the maintenance charge works on the engines. There is a figure for this charge with the info about the engine but it doesnt tell me if this charge is monthly, yearly or what. Also if the charge is worked on the depreciated value of the train. I just cant quite get my head around how it is working. Some trains seem to loose value faster than others and some lines seem to cost a lot of quids to operate. Any observations would be apreciated.
Tonight I was playing the German senario and had a train doing passengers to four stations. At the third station it was making money however by the time it got to the fourth and then back to the third the train had lost 150k. I need to understand.

Thanks for pointing me to Red Knights research. Will have to read it a few times to understand it all but it is what I was after.
