The loss of Jancsika

Post by snoopy55 » Sat Jun 11, 2011 11:53 pm

I've never been good at this type of thing, so I'll try to be breif.

A question came up about a post made by Jancsika last September. I answered it, and in doing so it caused me to remember that we have not heard from him in a while. I did a web search for his Email address and got a Class of 1943 web site. His name, of course, was on it, along with an address of Highland MD. I did a furthure search and came up with this: http://www.tributes.com/show/Janos-Balla-89759941

Here is the site I found by searching for his Email : http://patakidiak.hu/regi/1943uj/index.html Click on Balla on the left and there are 6 photos of him and family/friends. Click on 'Lista' and you'll find his name second from the top.

Jancsika passed away on October 25, 2010 at the age of 85.

I'll miss him and the work he did for this game.
I'm correct 97% of the time..... who cares about the other 4%....

Thank you for the information Snoppy, although I am only familiar with jancsika via Private Mail or Email but it really feels to have lost a friend who is very much helpful and become mediators between the groups in this forum or on the Bobby site ... I hope his soul is placed in the space worthy of God's hand.....Amiin......... :( :( :(

Amazing, with his productivity, I had always assumed that he was much younger. It is great to see mental fitness at such age, enabling (and sustained by) committment to PC railroading.

Jancsika will be remembered across this small community very fondly.

Thank you Snoopy,

Jancsika was a large part of this community. For about a year his maps dominated the front page. I too thought he was much younger. That he has passed away is startling. I had noticed his absence but I thought he had simply gotten distracted by life.

R.I.P., Jancsika. :( I hope that if I live to be 85 years old my mind will be as sharp as yours was.

Thank you for letting us know, Snoopy.

lots of respect for Jancsika. I guess my PM to him will never arrive..

anyways at least Rodea2007 is still here, but I feel the SMR community is slowly dwelling down.
