Railroad Work Train

When I was about 19, our work group was assigned to lay some railroad tracks. I am 6’-2” and the rest of the crew was at least 6” shorter, so no matter where I was, I was carrying half of the track.
That’s where my connection to the Railroading started.

Wow that was amazing. Now heres my question, can they build new rails as automated as these ones were replaced?

Yes, Plasser & Theurer (an Austrian firm) also produce machines for building new track. Pretty amazing :D
