Shall we have a FAQ???
Since the Wiki is not functional, and most of the everyday problems are mundane and we are getting repeated questions about problems,that does not require extensive research, I was thinking about starting FAQ thread.
It looks like every decent forum has one.
I would like to hear suggestions and input from our esteemed members.

That sounds like a great idea.
Is there no way we can make a new Wiki page somehow?
Both would be fantastic, but the FAQ for sure.

A FAQ section would certainly make the forum more attactive to new and returning members.

Almost all questions have been answered somewhere in the forum, but to find the answers (and to distinguish fact from fiction) takes more time than most people can spare.

The first step could be to unstick the outdated stickies which confuse people, like the one on this sub-forum about the non-existent wiki. Instead, there could be a link to the original wiki kindly hosted by Warll.

Can we keep that up to date?

Check with Warll...I think he has posted the old Wiki back up. It had a list, not all maps made it on it though.
Myself I scroll through the Maps section and look at the threads for them as they give clues storyline etc.
When a new or old list is back up, if anyone could please let me know...I will make sure my maps are added to such lists.

Actually now that I think about it I'll see about making it show all the maps at once. For now you have to click "Older Entries".

I'm looking for two mods that I can't seem to find.
I found plenty of threads and discussions, but only broken or no links.
The two mods are:
florida gold 400 and middle earth, any idea where I could find them?

Maybe if you look a little further in the Mods - Maps sections, there are all the maps!!!

Also there are other maps there to consider.You have to look at them there.

The Florida Gold map is Lowell's doing.

I would like to see a wiki come about, but for now an FAQ is fairly reasonable. It would be torture to organize an FAQ in a post on a forum as far as I can see. How would it be organized?

Organizing is no problemo!
The content will be more difficult.
At the top of the Chat forum I'll make a few Sticky thread:
1. General Questions
2. Mapmaking Questions
3. Train, Engine Questions
4. Whatever else comes in mind.
99. FAQ Discussion.

Anybody will be welcome to propose a question.
First it will be discussed in 99. Then when it is ready,the final version will be moved to the appropriate thread.

I am working on that also. Right now you have to search in the different forums, but I have bunch getting ready in my machine. I am in the process of getting it organized.
