gforce,
great idea! I am testing a 10x-20x cost increase in my next scenario (Liverpool to Manchester) to reward more prototypical track building. Am looking forward to further test results from you. :D

:D Hi everybody. Universum, thanks for your super and insightful comments, that´s what gives us mapmakers the motivation to go on! edbangor and kenster: Thanks for trying the scenario, too bad you had a CTD while loading. It WILL do that if the Santa scenario has not been installed using the Firaxi...

Version 1.2 of Scrooge is out

Hi everyone! I have updated the files in the Scrooge topic with version 1.2. Thanks to the posters in Wiki and Forum, there are the following improvements: * Real toys are now enabled! (See screenshot). * Three good starting positions, no savegame needed. * Third era rewritten to introduce new scene...

At the moment, I am going in the opposite direction, since Liverpool Manchester is such a short distance, I thought I would zoom in totally. But lets see how it works out, I have the DEM file for the area and a scenario sketched out. I would be happy to collaborate on a Scotland map later, currently...

Re: Speed vs. Quality

Has anyone has success with a more intelligently managed, planned and deliberate approach? I assume the most effective approach is somewhere inbetween complete chaos and perfectly planned. Hi Keking, I think it depends on the scenario. Why dont you have a look at the Scrooge scenario and tell me wh...

I enjoyed playing BC Gold to the end twice, no problems except the occasional CTD when the game engine trips over its shoelaces. Save early, save often, is my motto for SMR. I managed to achieve all goals except net worth, where I only got to 20 mln, both times. The financial goal may be a bit ambit...

Thanks, dwax and atani! I am relieved that the savegame seems to provide a viable workaround :P I will see if I can figure out how to solve the Newspaper issue.
