It would be nice to have screenshots of lovely working complex junctions. The ones I use the most are trying to get multiple trains filtering into the 3 tracks in a station. I will try to remember to take screenshots when I get something that works well For some helpful screenshots, check my 3 exam...

Good question, but again while I'm up for the most vile of tricks, I don't find this one promising. It works against the AI and against a greenhorn player but any player who knows bridges will laugh at the $ you wasted and go over whatever part he/she likes. The best justice for a player who likes t...

This works fine, it is what Red Knight called a ping-pong setup, where a steel train runs payloads both ways, as long as there is a steel producer and a steel user in both towns. Highly profitable, if you can set it up. :P That's all fine and great unless both towns don't actually use the steel mil...

No, this is not a glitch. As Mr Droid was trying to defend in the leaching thread, the game is all about shipping goods from point a to point b as efficiently as possible. what this means is that if you have a steel industry and a war plant in the same city the game will NOT "pipe" the output from ...

One more thing, regarding leeching and the nature of economics. This is PRECISELY how business models work: If there is excess profit, others enter that market. When there is not enough profit, folks leave the market....and this is what keeps things close to the "equilibrium point" regarding any sup...

There's some good stuff here and I certainly agree with most of....the strategy stuff, I'm not into the wiki stuff :) One thing I would disagree with: Upgrading your "highest profit" trains. Upgrading engines should be case by case and not because it's a top producer. I've fiddled with this a lot an...

I was curious, so I let the game run for 10 years....the computer was totally confused, it sold stock, but never built any track, it didn't know what to do....pretty funny actually. So I guess "vandalism" works against the AI. And note, I still managed to route one of my trains into this mess lol -B...

Well snoop, theres a lot worse problems in the game than the high bridges....and frankly, it DOES limit them. But hey, I'm an economist, I'll do what creates the most profit within the parameters, I don't care if you change the parameters. Now as far as tracksneaking goes.....if you try to cross a t...

Also, Back to the original question. I took the liberty of guessing what "vandalizing tracks" might look like so you could get a visual idea. Now I bet this is even worse than what your buddy was describing....but imagine if someone did this to you: compliments of -Bob the Lunatic Note: this is the ...

Lastly, this is the WRONG way to do it shown below. One more attempt at explaining why: Sooner or later you're gonna do hard routing, when you do you should have learned how to route right or you're gonna have to unlearn old stuff and learn NEW stuff and have piles of problems for a while. If they r...

Just so we're clear, here's one with about 21 tracks going into a station, it ain't that pretty but you get the idea...and frankly I don't think 21 COULD look pretty lol. 12 is fathomable, but 21 would be stupid...why? Cuz you should take those resources to other cities. It is possible on some maps ...

To help alleviate the confusion created by words. here's a simple example of 8 tracks into a station done PROPERLY. there are no trains in this example, but if you need this many tracks, set it up similar to this and it will work fine, with minimal waiting.

Your opponent does have the ability to get past that, I've put a crossing not only over my own tracks, but over my opponent as well. See my playground below...... Oh ya, it goes thru his station on the left, curves across his track and under it on the right thru a crossover I did and on to my stati...

Re: Speed vs Quality

There is a sense of urgency in online play. But the one thing you can't control is where you start. They guy who starts in a town with little or no resources nearby is at a big disadvantage. I've seen where people will leave within a minute of the game starting because they were at such a situation...

Re: Laying complex railroad tracks

Hi, Has anybody succeeded in creating a fully functional double (or tripple) track Y-junction where all tracks also allow you to cross over to the other "lanes" (right, middle and left). As far as I can see a single switch doens't allow crossing over one track onto a third and the result is a chaos...
