Ah well, it's not my wiki, it's everybody's wiki! Although I'm doing most of the posting at the moment. I won't work on Railroads! forever either, but I am for now. Actually, I like pinning down how something works. That IS playing for me! :P And you're right, Willy; how can I play when I'm testing ...

It just occurred to me... purchasing a Power Plant in an opponent's city that is receiving Coal for Steel & Autos would be a right nasty way to halve their whole Steel/Auto production chain.

Ok, testing is done... I set up 8 instances of 1 resource supplying a city with two industries that can use it. They were: * Wood to a city with Furniture and Paper (4 instances) * Oil to a city with Refinery and Power (2) * Coal to a city with Steel and Power (2) Clearly, the resource is divided (h...

dwax, that's just a reward that the game starts giving a player in all their new games, once you've proved you rule.

LOL. Snoopy has a note earlier on, about how to get rid of that.

Interesting question Rain, I was planning to get around to it soon. I'm in the middle of testing how resources work, and posting to the wiki. I'll make a post here when I get to that.

Snoopy, one other thought re: the 200 mph limit... When you hacked the trains to 30, did they make that sound for "screaching around a curve"? Know what I mean? If the game thought it was being slowed by a curve - the usual reason a track slows a train - it would probably be making that sound, even ...

Vancouver Express have given good advice, but perhaps I can simplify it. Do not EVER give any train, ever, a choice in what track it can take. Period. Hehe. To amplify: Let's call Depots/Stations/Terminals "Junctions" with "connections". A city can have 3 connections, 4 if the junction is a terminal...

Yes, it seems pretty clear that the ring is affected. And also the range of the graphic size. But did you test if it also affected output over time?

Since I doubt that one variable would affect both things, I'll take your word. I don't mean to be picky. I mean to make sure I speak the truth :P

Yes sir, I'm still using your original. (I asked that before you, cough, posted it.) In fact your original is perfectly fine with me and I don't want to break a good thing, laugh. I am not following all your questions. All I am doing now is playing with your original HVM. I do not want to mess with ...

I and others are researching the basis of the way important things in Railroads! work. We're posting this on the wiki (the link to the wiki is on the bar in upper left). It's in its infancy now, which is good and bad. Bad because there is much unknown... good because everybody can join in and discov...

Great post, South African. I've been doing a lot of research on the game as seen in the wiki and in the strategy forum here. Some of what I say now, I have already posted. Some, I have not got around to posting. One thing I do not do is multiplayer. In fact I only ever played versus AIs, eactly once...

Ah, now it all makes sense - and I've got the download. Sorry to hear about your problems there. I've been blessed to only have moderate problems, but you never know. Then again, problems can be godsends in disguise. If you get a chance, you might check a look at those other questions I asked. But n...

p.s. Snoopy or anyone else - currently I am working on the Resources and Industry page of the wiki, if it gives you any ideas you're interested in.

War, good point about the track speed limit - I totally forgot about that too. :P None of the XMLs seem to address it. Oh well. Snoopy - thanks so much for all your help. Am I going blind or did you forget to attach that file? Also - what do you mean by Analyzer. Just a name, or do you mean Debug is...
