Re: Online strategy guide
I had an anomaly that caused the Terminal walkover to not appear, allowing a clear view of "trimmed" station tracks. The small turning section on the 4th track (mentioned by Efast's point #1) is as small as I can make it on a sliver of station track ($2,000); if the station track is longer, the tur...

I'll get to the bottom of this!! Just give me a few hours alone with the game and I'll beat the answers out of a few trains!!

Re: Online strategy guide
Now you're making me question other assumptions.
Are we agreed that cars have zero weight?
(ie 8 empty cars run as fast as zero cars?)

Re: Online strategy guide
No foolin! I thought we settled that 2 years ago. Now I'm going to have to test it at various heights-uggh. Well, thanks for correcting me Keo. I do imagine I/we would find that with steep inclines, what I say is true (flat is better) but perhaps a slight grade or even a few more clicks could also m...

Re: Online strategy guide
Just trying to help efast. You have a lot of the tactics down, I just thought you might be wanting to learn more. I'm sure there are still tactics undiscovered in the game... Every time I think I've figured it all out, I learn something new.

Re: Online strategy guide
Also, your tracks look pretty good in your pictures, but I see a lot of inefficiencies for online play. 1/ The steep tracks to resource as already discussed. 2/ At the stations, your double tracks while short are still way too long, they should be slivers. 3/ Your right turns are also still too curv...

Re: Online strategy guide
Some very good tips here efast, I agree with everything, except points 6 and 11. Let's discuss why. On point 6: This is certainly something many of us agreed with at some point. The concept behind this is gravity of course; that a train would go faster if it's on a down slope. This would indeed be t...

Re: The future of this forum
Well geeze, it would be a shame to see us disband!
I sure hope Warll can do it! He's our only hope, like Obi-wan.
I would simply say that because both solutions require Warll's help, let him decide. So whatever Warll wishes to do, I vote that way.

I need a train profile graphic, please help
Hi Everyone, I have a friend of mine that I'm helping with a business name and logo. For the logo, in the center of it, I want a train engine profile.... something old, but not too small. The American engine from this game comes to mind... something like that, with the big smoke stack, the cow guard...

Re: High Volume Routing and Signaling Guide
sigh... Is it possible to get some good convo going on the original topic..ie "high volume routing"? I really do not care about drama from the past and "who did what". All of your contributions are welcomed by those of us that tend to lurk. I'd just like to see some information about the routing qu...

Re: Trains won't cross each other on single line.
Is there maintenance cost for tracks lay out like engines maintenance? There is no such maintenance cost for track as far as depreciation goes like engines have, no, I don't believe so. But do keep in mind that track is expensive and the more track you have, the more time it takes trains to make mo...

 Not wanting to start an argument with another forum member, but I will simply say in response to darthdroid's comments: My 73 year old 'Grasshopper' was only costing me $1250 maintenance and the 'speed of delivery and return' meant that 4 carriages was the 'sweet spot' for 'cost vs. profit v...

Re: Trains won't cross each other on single line.
Hi, this is my first post. Sorry if this topic raised already before. I just bought this game for 4 days ago (I am hooked) but I notice at least once that the trains just sat there staring each other. Whem I still had some stock I sold it one just enough to build short double line for them to keep ...

Re: upgrade trains
I would mention to the OP that the simplest way to do this is on the train screen.... it's pretty quick and easy there. You have a list of all your trains, you highlight each one, click upgrade, choose the model, go to the next train. I say this as I have seen folks who didn't know this and instead ...
