Re: New York to Chicago

How to tell the size of the map: Find the C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Railroads!\UserMaps\MAPNAME\RRT_Scenario_User_MAPNAME.xml file. Open it with a text editor or an XML editor. If you started from scratch, you will find something looking like this. I’ve marked with red the Map siz...

Re: New York to Chicago

Question #1 What size map are you making.? When you are starting a map in the terrain editor, you will have a choice of different sizes. Go and read the mapmaking tutorial!! http://www.smrsimple.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=4226 It’s not that difficult, and let me know the size of the map. And do...

Re: BC Interior BETA

This map went through a few re-incarnation. I have added a Generic Events file. After all those years it is still a great map.
The revised map is posted in the first post.

Re: New York to Chicago

Before we go too much into details, it would be nice to know exactly how much you know about the game. Karsten has a good idea where to get the necessary TGA files. With that knowledge you want to read the Map Making tutorial http://www.smrsimple.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=4226 You will need ba...

Map Building Contest

First Annual Map Building Contest The ultimate challenge of this game is to create good map with a good scenario. We have several new members, who seem to be pretty efficient of what they are doing. I won’t name names, but you know who you are. Therefore I like to propose a contest of “Scenario and...

Re: Adding a new train to Railroads.

I think you're doing a great job with all this, but it's all a little difficult to understand. I'm trying to make a new steam engine for the game (New York Central 4-6-4 Hudson), but I'm having a hard time getting my head wrapped around all of this. I don't think that there will be a response here ...

Why do't you try to make one?
It's not that difficult, and if you need any help, all you have to do just: Ask. :)

Re: Industry Facing

Check the spelling, or maybe there is an extra empty space. :)
If it is in the RRT_Industries.XML file, it should work.

Re: integrated Train Table

Here is a file of Rodea’s Depots and Buildings. I don’t have them separated, but you might be able to use them. Buildings_Depots_Borneo.zip Once you start using Depots for non stock (Firaxis’ industries) you have to list all the depots, even the stock ones. viewtopic.php?f=42&t=3802 viewtopic.php?f=...

Re: painting train cars and other stuff

Now we are getting into a territory, that I am not an expert in. To the best of my knowledge there are 4 files that complete the picture. You have one, which decides the basic color, the others decide the texture, shading, light etc. Here is a list of the four files. One thing to watch for. These fi...

Re: integrated Train Table

I am glad to hear it. :) You have to be careful for one thing. If and when adding new details to the map, one never can be sure if there will be some conflict. It is useful to back-up your work before each additional step. It can save a lot of headache later. The reason I am telling this, because th...

8. How can I slow down the game speed The default game speed is 16 turns per month. You can slow down the game speed by inserting this line in the C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Railroads!_0_Greenland_01\UserMaps\MAPNAME\RRT_Scenario_Users_MAPNAME.xml file: <iTurnsPerMonth>32</iTurnsPe...

I like your toxic waste cars. They are really cool!
How about sharing them with us. You can post them in the construction set thread.

Re: Industry Facing

My current issue is the facing of my industries ... I can rotate them and save them in my terrain map , but when I reload the map or play the map in traintable mode the industry will be facing the same generic way it was facing when I placed it , before I rotated it. You can rotate the cities and a...
