Re: My_Old_Kentucky_Home_SAM

Hi Tim, No problem. This is what you need to do. 1. Double-click on the FPK file you want to open. 2. Click on the top file in the list, hold your shift key down and then arrow down until all the files are highlighted. (In a case where you only want some files, you can hold the Ctrl key down and jus...

Re: My_Old_Kentucky_Home_SAM

Hi Otto, I am aware of two free programs that will handle FPK files - Dragon Unpacker and PakBuild. The one that I use for unpacking files is Dragon Unpacker. It's is a free download available at a number of sites. Here is one location where you can get it, but if you search Yahoo or probably any ot...

Server Error

Hi Guys, I tried to post a small how-to today. When I tried to upload a jpg file as an illustration, I got an error from the server. I hope someone will read this and fix the problem, but there doesn't seem to be much activity on this site. Slider

Re: My_Old_Kentucky_Home_SAM

Glad you got it working ok Karsten. While I won't argue the scenery issue (you could put the Daniel Boone National Forest on the map and you'd never find anything) you will note the "bluegrass" area around Lexington?

Hope you enjoy. Slider

Re: My_Old_Kentucky_Home_SAM

Hi Guys, Just a heads-up. I started playing this map again this morning from the FPK files. While the game was running fine, I realized that I wasn't hearing any music. I went in and unpacked the Audio FPK and eureka - the music was back. I guess you can't trust the FPKs. When in doubt, unpack them....

Re: My_Old_Kentucky_Home_SAM

I have been told that with some larger maps it is necessary to de-compress the FPK files in order to get the map to run. If you have a problem running the map from the FPK files, de-compress the FPKs into the UserMaps folder and give it another try. Slider

Re: Map Building Contest

I have posted a map - My_Old_Kentucky_Home_SAM in the Map Development section as requested above. I wasn't sure if I should start some kind of "Contest Maps" thread or what. I posted it simply under the map name, but feel free to move it if need be. The map is contained in 2 consecutive posts due to...

Re: Map Building Contest

Hi Folks, I have a map that I have just finished. I've been living with this for months. I have to build the upload file, but am not sure what size file you can take. What is the current upload file-size limit? I just need to figure out how many pieces I need to break it into. Thanks, Slider

Re: King_Coal SAM

Thank you. It was quite a learning experience. You will find a fair amount of change in difficulty depending on where you start. The tough part was trying to get balance between playability and difficulty. Anyway, thanks again for your kind remarks. Slider

Adding new city songs

Has anyone tried adding new music to a mod? I've been fooling with it for a couple of days, but I can't get it to work. The system seems rather convaluted. There are at least 4 different files all dealing with city songs. If anyone knows how to sucessfully add a new citysong to a mod, I could sure u...
