Re: New Passenger & Mail Cars

3 folders: _amtk (v3) _common _sf It's short cars You said: install v3, even if not use him It's mean I need to have "_amtk (v3)"? I think, I need RRT_Trains.xml, right in CustomAssests? Or I need RRT_TrainCars.xml? You will need the _v3 folder from _riveted sides folder besides other railroad spec...

Re: Lake Michigan West SAM

Well not quite right. DIFF stands for Diffuse and contains the base colors of the train in the RGB channel. This is essentially the base texture of the locomotive. EMSK stands for Environment Mask. The environment mask determines the intensity and hue of light from the simulated environment map that...

Re: Borneo_NO, all otheres_YES

Noticed a terrific number of Loco's but not one articulated. Isn't the BigBoy one? Believe I saw one in one of the Maps here. There is a favorite of mine that ran the mountains of the West called the Denver and Salt Lake, in only two configurations believe, 2 6 6 0 and 4 6 6 0. I have an HO Model o...

good to know that
but speed0 is actually for acceleration and doesnt effect maxspeed, thats why passenger locos have high number and freight low ;)

If theres none you have to copy the file from the installation folder "...\Sid Meier's Railroads!\Assets\XML\" to CustomAssets and modify that as explained.

Re: SOME OF SMR Trains NOW RUN in MSTS

I can't find a file converter from .s to .3ds. Do you know where I can find one? If you're really interested in that here it is, I found that on a spanish site. Just unpack it somewhere and start the ShapeConverter.exe which directly converts a .s file into .3ds format. Should work with many models...

Re: American rail history

Well wikipedia says that the first railroad in the USA was Baltimore - Ellicots Mills (first part of Baltimore & Ohio Railroad) opened on Dec 28 1829.

Sorry that the list of first railroads is on a german page only (on the right side)

... or you could just ask me for the base texture file without the daylight paintsheme.
I cant see how it would help to change the model for a different skin, its all in the DIFF. Thats the only place where those colors are.

Re: 4-8-8-4 Bigboy (new Model)

To install this particular model download the file from the first post, extract it and run the installer.exe from it and follow the readme for XML editing. Atleast this should work for any custom map.

But I didnt made the painting, so its not available here, only on bobby's site. Finished versions can be found starting here: http://eric...

Re: Longer traincars for bigger map

Well I like realism, most of my work is dedicated to that to bring something of it to SMR. But I have to accept the limits SMR has, like the 8 traincars. Though it might possible to merge 2, 3 or more traincars into one model, they will never pivot on curves or grades, which will make them look real...

Re: SOME OF SMR Trains NOW RUN in MSTS

How exactly do you get MSTS trains to run in SMR in the first place? To give you an answer of how it could be made: 1. You need a software to import .s files and export .3ds (e.g. as Rodea wrote: payware version of 3D Canvas 7) or just convert them directly (there are some freeware tools for that) ...
