Basically, the editor is there to fine-sculpt the landscape. All the rest is best defined in the XML files. You want to place a cannery? Here is Arizona Gold V2.4 PcMac. I updated the crucial files (screenshot), but otherwise this version is largely unchanged from the previous one. It would be great if some of the Mac users could test this version and let us know whether it runs without problems on their copy of SMR. :D Thanks Karst...

I have problems with custom maps crashing too. I haven't tried every single map yet but only the following worked:

Alaska Early (worked until a certain time, strange)
San Francisco
Texas, Lone Star State
Ukraine
